While Keys’ loss was sudden and heartbreaking, Fritz’s loss to Francisco Cerundolo (24) unfolded over hours but the No. 9 seed simply could not regain the momentum he built after winning the first two sets. From that point on, the Argentinian would win 18 of the remaining 29 games, absolutely stunning Fritz who appeared destined for another round of 16 appearance.
