Oak Forest High School under lockdown for possible threat; massive police response, officials say

OAK FOREST, Ill. (WLS) — There is a massive police response at a south suburban high school Tuesday.

Oak Forest police are responding to a possible threat at Oak Forest High School, officials said.

A lockdown was initiated just before 11 a.m., the school said.

The South Suburban Emergency Response Team is conducting a coordinated sweep of the building.

No injuries are reported, and “the incident is contained,” officials said.

Police with long guns and at least one K-9 were seen on the school campus.

Officials did not immediately provide any additional information on the nature of the threat.
