8-year-old boy missing from Arvada found safe after Amber alert issued

An 8-year-old boy was found safe Tuesday shortly after law enforcement issued an Amber alert reporting him missing from Arvada.

The boy’s grandfather had taken the boy from an apartment in the 9000 block of Oberon Road in Arvada about 9:30 a.m., said David Snelling, an Arvada police spokesperson. Law enforcement believed the two were in a truck headed towards Grand Junction, the Amber alert said.

Sheridan and Englewood police found the boy with his grandfather in Sheridan about 10 minutes after the alert was issued. The boy is safe, Snelling said.

The grandfather was arrested and is facing multiple charges, Snelling said.
