India will face the Republic of Korea in the second round of the Davis Cup 2026 Qualifiers at the Olympic Tennis Centre in Seoul on Friday and Saturday, with a place in the Final 8 at stake.
The Indian tennis team, 19th in the Davis Cup rankings, will face 16th-ranked South Korea on the hard courts in Seoul.

The winner of the tennis tie will progress to the Davis Cup Final 8, scheduled to be held in Bologna, Italy, in November.
World No. 367 Dhakshineswar Suresh will open India’s campaign against Kwon Soon-woo in the first singles rubber on Friday.
The contest will be followed by India’s top-ranked singles player Sumit Nagal, world No. 247, taking on former Australian Open semi-finalist Chung Hyeon.
The second day will begin with the doubles rubber, with world No. 49 N Sriram Balaji and 88th-ranked Niki Kalyanda Poonacha scheduled to take on Nam Ji-sung and Park Ui-sung.
Poonacha was brought into the Indian team after Yuki Bhambri, India’s top-ranked doubles player, was ruled out of the tie with a thigh injury.
If required, Nagal will face Kwon in the first reverse singles rubber before Suresh takes on Chung in the fifth and final match.
India progressed to the second round of the Qualifiers after a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Netherlands in Bengaluru in February. Suresh played a part in all three of India’s wins, including victory in the deciding fifth rubber.
South Korea, meanwhile, beat Argentina 3-2 in Busan in the opening round to book their place in the second round.
India have won the last two Davis Cup meetings between the teams, including a 4-1 victory in Chandigarh in 2016. South Korea, however, lead the overall head-to-head 6-5.
India have finished as Davis Cup runners-up three times, in 1966, 1974 and 1987, but are yet to reach the Final 8 under the current format.
