On Thursday at 9:18 p.m. a fire weather watch was released by the NWS Eureka CA valid from Saturday 10 a.m. until Sunday 2 a.m. The watch is for Northern Lake Including Gravelly Valley, Eastern Lake Including Clearlake and Middletown, Southern Lake Including Cobb and Konocti and Western Lake Including Lakeport.

Winds are expected to be winds gusts of 20 to 30 mph, locally up to 40 for the higher ridges and relative humidity 20 to 30%.

“Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” adds the NWS.

This watch is in effect until Sunday at 2 a.m.
