ESPN paid Pat McAfee the big bucks to be one of the faces of their network. They’re squeezing every dollar out of him as McAfee is now on ESPN’s main coverage for both college football and the NFL. He’s on College GameDay every Saturday and now on Monday Night Countdown. But viewers are fed up with watching McAfee everywhere on ESPN and want him gone.
Calls Mount to Remove Pat McAfee From Monday Night Countdown After Debut
McAfee is a part of a new-look Monday Night Countdown squad. After Ryan Clark’s departure from ESPN, Jason McCourty joined the coverage as an analyst, and McAfee as well.

McAfee is on the desk, analyzing the game, but fans are tired of him and are threatening to watch other sports because he’s on the screen.
“I cannot stand Pat McAfee on Monday Night Football,” said one fan.
“McAfee is so bad and annoying I’d rather watch the (Detroit) Tigers than this MNF pregame,” said one fan.
This is a tough indictment of McAfee’s standing with the NFL fanbase. The Detroit Tigers have virtually no chance of making the playoffs, and their season will end in two weeks. It’s the first Monday night primetime game of the year, and fans would rather watch meaningless baseball over the NFL pregame show with McAfee.

“Pat McAfee has ruined sports. Get him the [expletive] off every form of media. I’m tired,” said one fan.
“Please ESPN MNF get rid of McAfee… unwatchable,” added another fan.
McAfee has been getting grilled for his appearances on College GameDay. It’s no different for NFL fans, who’re itching for him to be gone from their football pregame shows.

“Oh good. As if ruining College Gameday wasn’t enough, more McAfee,” said one fan.
“Not a McAfee fan, makes it very difficult for me to watch Countdown,” added another fan.

“Absolutely awful,” added another fan about McAfee being on the show.
McAfee’s consistent presence on ESPN is rubbing fans the wrong way because it’s not just those two shows. He has his own show that airs on ESPN and airs for two hours every weekday, then he has his duties on Saturday morning on GameDay, and now on Monday Night Football. He’s one of the symbols of ESPN right now, and fans simply can’t stand that fact.
