When Florida State shocked Alabama to open the 2025 season, it came on the arm and legs of quarterback Tommy Castellanos. Whether the embattled Mike Norvell can do it again likely falls at the feet of running back Ousmane Kromah.
The sophomore running back has been the engine driving the FSU offense throughout its 1-1 start. At the start of Week 3, he ranked 15th in the nation with 231 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns, putting up nearly identical stat lines over the Seminoles’ first two games. No. 10 Alabama comes in with the No. 4 rush defense, giving up just 32.5 yards per game on the ground.
Both teams have quarterbacks who double as their teams’ second-leading rusher. FSU’s Ashton Daniels has run for two TDs but hasn’t impressed in the passing game, while Bama’s Keelon Russell has gotten Crimson Tide fans excited with 444 yards through the air, though he has thrown a pair of picks. Ashlynd Barker and the FSU defense (16th in the ACC in pass yards allowed) containing him will be crucial in landing another big upset.

- Alabama 35, FSU 13: “Keelon Russell is a challenge for the Seminoles to solve, and given the recent performances from the defense, it might be a breakout game for the first-year starter. I expect FSU to have more success running the football than ECU and Kentucky did, but it won’t be enough.” – Liam Rooney, Tallahassee Democrat
